Representative Cases

The firm represented numerous persons, including State Senator Maryanne Keller and Congresswoman Diana DeGette, in a challenge to the Republican-controlled Colorado General Assembly’s attempt to engage in congressional redistricting for a second time in one decade. We were able to defeat the Republicans' attempt to overturn the Colorado Supreme Court’s decision striking down multiple redistricting. Keller v. Davidson, 299 F. Supp. 2d 1171 (D. Colo. 2004)

The firm is working with the Colorado Attorney General’s office defending in federal court the state constitutional amendment providing for campaign finance reform, along the lines of the federal McCain-Feingold Act, which was upheld by the United States Supreme Court.

The firm represented the public interest in obtaining $155 million for a foundation created by the conversion to for-profit status of Colorado Blue Cross and other health insurers. The firm also had lobbied for the statute which governed the conversion.
