In addition to several articles, published in varied political science journals, and the book-length report on race and ethnicity in the Nebraska legal system, Judd recently published Torn and Frayed: Congressional Norms and Party Switching in a Era of Reform, a book researching the norms of committee behavior in the United States House of Representatives.

Judd has worked on the staff of several political candidates, including those seeking both statewide and national office.

Finally, Judd was a scout for the Kansas City Royals, from 1993-96.

Attorney Q&A

What's your favorite thing about living in Denver?
I enjoy being close to great restaurants, indie movies, and (of course) Coors Field.

What is your most prized possession?
I have a picture of my grandfather as a captain in World War II. He was a bomber pilot. The picture shows him standing in front of his bomber with the members of his crew. My grandfather was killed when his transport flight that would have taken him home after the war crashed in eastern France. That picture means a lot to me.

If you were something other than an attorney, what would you be?
I have been lucky enough to have been a baseball scout, political science professor, and now an attorney. If I weren't an attorney, I would likely go back to being a professor.

Name the last great book you read.
The single most illuminating book I have ever read was Vietnam by Stanley Karnow. You wonder whether this country would get into the foreign policy messes we do if people as knowledgeable as Karnow were consulted.

What is your favorite movie about lawyers, and why?
Every lawyer's favorite movie about lawyers is To Kill a Mockingbird, because we all seek to live up to Harper Lee's example.
