As a judge, I presided over trials and hearings on, among others: (1) contract disputes regarding advertising, construction, employment, insurance coverage, investments, oil, partnership dissolutions and telecommunications; (2) debt collections; (3) real estate condemnations and foreclosures; (4) landlord/tenant disputes; (5) negligence actions on property damage, legal malpractice, medical malpractice, personal injury and railroad employment; (6) appeals from the Denver County Court and administrative agencies; (7) criminal prosecutions; and (8) family law issues of child custody and support, division of property, maintenance, and property valuation.
I managed high volume dockets in civil, criminal and domestic divisions, averaging 15 jury trials per year in civil and criminal divisions; and numerous hearings. We processed an average of 400 criminal, 800 civil and 1,500 domestic cases annually in each division. I also presided over settlement conferences and temporary restraining order hearings.
As a Senior Attorney at Qwest Communications International, Inc., I managed outside counsel in strategic litigation and business receivables, lobbied local governments, and negotiated and drafted agreements with contractors, local governments and telecommunications companies.
